Juice Cleanse Recipes
Juicing is one of the most popular weight loss programs in the world. The basic step is to extract the juice from different kinds of fruits and vegetables and drink the juice raw or blend it into a shake. To make tastier juices, you can add lemon, lime or ginger. With a wide array of fruits and vegetables available in the market, you can create different kinds of recipes catered to your taste.
Drinking fruit and vegetables juices cleanse your body from harmful toxins. Fruit and vegetable juices also provide the right amount of vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants you need for your body. Drinking raw fruit or vegetable drinks are great for kids who do not like to eat vegetables. Vitamins and minerals found in these foods are important in every meal and juices are great alternatives. Remember though that these juices are not meal replacements, unless medically necessary.
One perfect vegetable in juice cleansing is celery. Celery contains anti-cancer properties which stops the growth of tumor cells. Celery is also rich in fiber. Eating celery a day reduces high cholesterol, high blood pressure and stress. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that are helpful to those with arthritis.
For a tasty drink containing celery, combine 3 celery stalks, 3 medium-sized carrots, 1 small medium-head broccoli and 1 small ginger. This juice drink is great after a vigorous workout.
Another popular juice drink is carrot juice. Carrots have vitamins A and C which is good for the eyes and skin. They are also rich in fiber and antioxidants. For a great carrot juice, combine 3 organic carrots, 2 organic apples, half a lemon and 1 small piece of ginger. Ginger adds a taste of zing on this sweet drink making it more delicious and tasty.
Another unique drink I found is Almond Milk. This creamy drink is known to have cleansing benefits as well. Almonds are known to reduce cholesterol, lower heart attack, build strong bones and teeth and help normal brain function. Almonds are also good alkalizers. For this recipe, you need a cup of almonds, 3 cups of water, seeds from vanilla bean or 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon and 2 dates. Almonds should be soaked first for eight hours before making this juice. Blend all ingredients until smooth. Strain milk using a strainer or kitchen cloth.
I also found one unique recipe which is beet juice. Red beets are rich in good cholesterol and have zero trans-fat. They are also known to have anti-cancer properties. Beets also contain sodium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, iron and folic acid. This is a very good recipe for pregnant women since folic acid is important for producing new cells. Beets are also known to lower risk of heart disease. For this recipe, you need 2 beets, 1 large carrot, half of green apple, half cucumber, 3 celery stalks and 1 small piece of ginger.
These are just some of the unique recipes I found online. You can make your own fruit or vegetable juice according to what you like. Remember to use organic fruits and vegetables. Mix and match your drink for a tastier juice drink.
